February = ChAoS!

I don't think our life could get any more chaotic. 2008 was a crazy year for the Shelton family but I think 2009 is going to top the charts for the Beckstead's. Here's  a list of things that are going down this month:

1-Brady's deployment. We are continuing to research and set appointments with the V.A. in hopes that Brady can stay home. We have one week left to put in all the efforts we can to excuse Brady from another tour to Iraq. The people that continue to help us with this are only able to give recommendations, however, the Army will make the ultimate decision. So we are hoping and praying that their recommendations are strong enough to persuade the Army that he needs to stay home.

2- Our house is no longer our home. We sold our house! We are so excited that it finally sold, it's been on the market for 6 months. However, the new home owners want us out by the end of the month. So we have 2 weeks to pack up our entire lives and get out. Where are we moving to you ask? Good question. We've rented a storage unit for now and are hoping we can put in an offer on an amazing house in South Jordan this week.

3- Our careers are out of control. Brady's work just launched a new computer system. They probably are the last company on the planet that write everything out. Technology is a wonderful thing but getting his staff to believe that is another thing. My work is anxiously awaiting the roll out of our largest customer ever. We've had to hire 50 new people and have them trained in less than 60 days. Plus put all the operational pieces together on top of that has been a challenge.  But we both love our jobs and wouldn't trade them for anything.

These items are so time consuming, our days have been starting at 4 am and ending around 11 pm. We are trying to stay connected as a family as much as possible so if Brady does have to leave we won't regret anything. And Isabelle is mixed up in all of this. She is such a smart and beautiful little girl. She is always happy and puts a smile on our faces everyday. She has just learned to give hugs and nothing is better than coming home to your daughter and getting the hug of a lifetime. We are so incredibly blessed to have her in our lives.

I heard this Chinese Proverb back when I was going to school and it's really starting to hit home with me this month. "SHARED SORROW IS HALF SORROW, SHARED JOY IS DOUBLE JOY" and that can't be more true for the Beckstead Family than it is right now.

Oh, Melissa, I can't believe that about Brady. Hopefully he will be able to stay home. Your life is definitely way more exciting than mine right now - at least you have that going for you, right? Hang in there with everything - I bet work has just been insane, too! Yikes!
