We had a busy, yet exciting summer and we accomplished almost everything on our Summer Fun list before school started.
Here's some honorable mentions of our fun...
-Lagoon-
Brady was a good sport and spent his Father's Day out in the sun for a day at Lagoon. This was a perfect day to go because the lines were so short. Uncle Brady and Daddy won a ton of stuffed animals for the kids and Isabelle was fearless on all the rides she was tall enough to go on.
-The BIG 3-0!-
Brady turned 30 on 6/21 and we enjoyed a night on the town. Our first stop was dinner at Ruth Chris, then we headed over to check out the newly constructed City Creek. Next we went and saw The Avengers and spent the night at The Grand America. Before we headed home to the kids we enjoyed their divine Sunday brunch and an hour massage at the spa!
-Germany-
Brady's brother, Jason, and his family have been living in Vilsec for the past 3 years for his service in the Army. They are coming home in October but Brady wanted to take one last trip before they come back home because who knows when we'll have the opportunity to go there again. While he was there he got to see our cute nephew, Sam, who was born in March and got to race on the Nurbergring.
-July 4th-
While Brady was in Germany the kids and I spent Independence Day in Weber Canyon at Pyper's cabin. We enjoyed the Oakley Parade and had a picnic when it was all through.
-Bear Lake-
The last weekend in July we headed to the lake for the annual Beckstead Family Reunion. We stayed in our usual spot, Blue Water Resort, and enjoyed some rest and relaxation! The kids enjoyed the beach and the water so much we couldn't get them to leave!
-Zoo-
On August 1st the kids and I went to the Hogle Zoo for the day with our neighbor Zoe. The new exhibit, The Rocky Shores, was a hit and we are looking forward to the completion of The African Savannah.
-Swimming-
This is Isabelle's 2nd year taking swimming lessons and she's becoming quite the swimmer! She has had lots of practice and getting wet at Grandpa's pool, Lifetime, Dimple Dell and at Cowabunga. Our kids are quite the fish and I'm so happy they are not afraid of the water. I have so many wonderful memories of swimming at my Grandma's pool growing up and it's so nice they enjoy going to the pool too!
-Daddy Daughter Camping-
Brady and Isabelle went to Aspen, Wyoming with Brady's Mom and enjoyed the great outdoors for 4 days. They went on a ton of rides in the Rzr and Isabelle got to go fishing for the first time!
-Isabelle's 5th Birthday-
Turning 5 was a big celebration for little miss! We had a huge party at Bouncing Off the Walls with our friends and family. Everyone was so generous and spoiled our little girl rotten!
-Backyard Campout-
On August 25th we purchased a brand new tent and had to give it a test run in our backyard. The whole family spent the night outside sleeping under the stars and surprisingly we slept until 8:00. I thought we would be up at 6! Savannah joined us for our backyard adventure and even got to roast marshmallows with us!
-Last Weekend of Summer-
We spent our last weekend of the summer in Weber Canyon at Ashlee Schaar's family cabin. Here Isabelle enjoyed her first ride on a horse and Mason enjoyed his first ride in the Rzr. It rained on us when we got there but that didn't slow us down!
-Oktoberfest-
For the past 3 years on Labor Day we have spent the day at Snowbird embracing the Oktoberfest celebrations. This year the weather was perfect, the food was perfect and the entertainment was perfect too.
